At The Ivy Global School, we are cognizant of our responsibility to mold every student into a productive and compassionate citizen who will go on to excel, lead, and better the world with wisdom and strong moral values. We strive to nurture future citizens with basic human values and respect for people and the planet.
Each child belongs to one of four Houses throughout his or her school life: Thinkers, Reformers, Inventors and Explorers. The Learners from Houses act as teams for the cultural, sports and literary intra school events. Learners can win positive points for their House by their exemplary performance; however, the sense of competition is overridden by a collaborative culture and teamwork where learners from different Houses support each other, play fair, and are gracious in victory and defeat. A House wins the Championship trophy at the end of the year. A sense of belonging, leadership qualities and team skills flower in this system.
A governing body of learners is elected by the entire school to give them a voice, responsibility, and a good sense of democracy at work. The Ivy Council’s office bearers are the following: School Captain Boy, School Captain Girl, School Vice Captain Boy, School Vice Captain Girl, School Cultural Captains, School Sports Captains, School HSCP Captains; each House has a Captain and a Vice Captain. We also nominate prefects for each class as Class Monitors, Language Monitors, and Changemakers.
Teachers assign ‘buddies’ to new learners in each class to help in the transition into the Ivy Learners and imbibe Ivy values like sensitivity, empathy, and helpfulness to the fore among the children.
Every week, learners can showcase their skills and talents at Assembly. Assemblies are also held for specific lectures or demonstrations or to celebrate festivals and national days, and to present awards and recognition. Togetherness, national and school pride are evident at these events which are compulsory for all learners.
